Trains, Parks & Picnics

On a recent Wednesday morning the girls and I ventured to a new play place, Cabin John Park, with a few friends for some uniquef fun.

One of the joys of the morning for me was watching Aliyah play with the "big girls."

This was one of the first times I've seen her really play at the park and interact with her sisters in a greater way.
The equipment in this area of the park was the perfect size for her, too.

Anyone else chuckling at Aliyah playing peek-a-boo?

One of the unique features of this park was that there were lots of different play areas with different kinds of play equipment in each area.

The girls enjoyed exploring all of the different areas.

In addition to lots of play areas, this park had a train.  We rode the train part way through the morning with some of our friends.

The train ride was a first for my girls and they loved every moment of it.  They've been pretending to go on the train at home every since our morning at the park.

The train went all the way around the larger park and took about 10 minutes to ride.  Later Xandra could be found on the playground happily waving to each train-full of children who would pass by.

After our train ride we enjoyed a picnic lunch, some more playing, and a quiet ride home before naptime.
