Without Consent

2015:

The day after the big Little House party, thus the bonnets in all the pictures below, with much of Joe's family still in town, we dedicated Ms. Tikvah Elise during the church service.

Tikvah was not interested in being a willing participant during this process.

She even batted Pastor Gerald's hand away during prayer when he tried to lay his hand on her to pray for her.

She refused to even look at him.

Joe shared a verse from Hebrews 6:19-20 - We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek

After the service, Tikvah continued with her refusal to cooperate and Joey (pictured just barely, behind momma) joined in too.

In the end, as most things go with two year olds, she was dedicated, without her consent.

Just a Dab

2014:

Here are a few snapshots from our last, first birthday:

The giraffe rider from riding

to constructing

to opening,

in reverse order.

Sibling presents galore,

and his first kusimanse.

Smoothies for breakfast

and pizza for dinner,

complete with a dab of pizza sauce on his head.

Happy Birthday, little Kusimanse!
