Theia's first cake featured two of her favorite things: bears and balloons.
Unfortunately, when asked what was on her cake, she was unable to identify bears or balloons. This probably doesn't say much for my decorating abilities.
We put the candles on,
lit them, and sang "Happy Birthday!"
When I instructed Theia to blow out the candles, she tried grabbing at the flames with her fingers. It's unclear what made the tears and howling being: my reaction or getting burnt from touching the candle flames.
This went on for quite sometime.
When the drama subsided, our friend David, helped Theia blow out the candles.
Our other friends, who missed the party on Saturday because of our stomach bug, patiently waiting for their slice of cake.
Aside from the misunderstanding about the candles, I think her first crack at birthday cake was a huge success.
Everyone else enjoyed it, too. There's nothing like cake at 9PM for small children.
The aftermath.
Happy birthday, messy platypus!
