Pumpkin Patch Play Part I: The A-maze-ing jumping, sliding, spidering cornbox edition

For the second year in a row, we spent a beautiful fall day at a local tree farm/pumpkin patch enjoying the weather, the kids and various corn/hay/pumpkin themed activities.

We started and ended the day at the cornbox.

Aliyah would have been happy to play here all day long.  She's at that age where scooping small things into cups and bowls is very entertaining and somewhat challenging.

The other girls liked it, too.

After we pried the girls from the cornbox, Joe and the girls ventured onto "The Jumping Pillow".

When Joe wasn't helping her bounce, Xandra spent a lot of time on the pillow looking like this (see below) but still having fun.

Aliyah was the least certain about this bouncing contraption, but endured the ride as long as daddy was holding her.

After jumping and a break for lunch, we found our old friend the spider.

The spider behind us, we visited the first of several fun slides.

Aliyah was not quite big enough to make the climb up to get on the slide.  If she had been there would have been no stopping her.  She loves a good slide.

For the last ride down everyone rode together...

at first they did, anyway.

Eventually Xandra took the lead,

followed by Aliyah

with Theia behind,

and Joe bringing up the rear,

only to be tackled at the bottom of the slide.

After the slide, we headed on to the straw bale maze.

Xandra and Theia figured it out right away and went from start to finish without too many wrong turns.

Liyah was a bit behind them,

but it didn't take her long to catch up.

After everyone finished they wanted daddy to do the maze, too.

He made some wrong turns at first (completely normal for Joe, even when he's not pretending for little girls), which the girls thought was really funny, but eventually made it to the end with Aliyah following close behind.

His reward?

A group hug.

Stay tuned for part II tomorrow...
