Xandra Bo Bo Nandra

Xandra recently passed the 3 1/2 year mark. It's always amazing to watch her change and grow. Right now she is...

often asking what letter words begin with and can spell her name. I overheard her spelling it for Theia in the bathtub this morning.

able to recognize the Sam's Club and Home Depot logos, and will repeatedly tell us when she sees them anywhere.

not liking loud noises. Last week during our Palm Sunday service, the preschool class came into the service with palm branches and walked up and down the aisles waving their palm branches during one (or actually two) of the worship songs. As Xandra approached the front of the "sanctuary (we meet in a school)" where the speakers for the music are, she burst into tears and howling. She did not like the loud music. Joe rescued her from the parade. When the prechoolers finished their palm waving, we realized that they had done it for the wrong song. So, on take two, Xandra marched around the "sanctuary" but refused to hold palm branches or smile. Not quite a triumphal entry, but one that produced many laughs from onlooking friends.

getting very good at building towers all by herself.
wondering where the holes in the Earth are? She asked Joe this question the other night over dinner. After verifying her train of thought, he explained that there aren't holes in the Earth. Rather when we say the whole Earth, we mean the complete or entire earth, like the whole banana or a whole orange.

very generous. Recently, she has taken to making gifts for friends. We've had lots of friends' birthday's and lots of new babies born lately, so she likes to wrap up random items from around the house (books, bracelets and necklaces, easter eggs, legos, etc.) and put them aside for Ava and Jillian. She also likes to give mommy, daddy, Theia, and Liyah gifts, too. After we open them she promptly takes them back. So far we've been unsuccessful in explaining that if she gives these gifts to others they will keep them and she won't be able to take them back. I don't think she's buying it.

still in love with balloons.

an excellent mommy. She loves to dress her animals. Every night recently at bedtime, she finds Arp (her bear) jammies and a diaper and gets him ready as she and Theia prepare for bedtime. This morning she even fed him oats with bananas and milk from a cup before eating her breakfast.

loving to bring Aliyah her blanket and lovies when Aliyah is sad. It's very sweet.

liking to ask how big the baby in my tummy is growing.

loving to wear dresses and would wear one everyday if we had enough.

liking to ride in our blue car because we have a CD player with fun music in that car.

making me smile at least once a day because she's sweet, cute, or says something terribly funny.
