Six years ago, this little porcupine
looked like this:
{Insert mushy mama comments and weeping over her baby being so big}
After pancakes for breakfast, a free haircut at JCPenney, and a brown bag lunch at the mall, we set to work on the birthday cake. I've never had such an audience.
Our neighborhood friend, Daysha joined us for awhile while I was decorating. I've also never had so much direction and excitement as to how to decorate a cake.
This girl had LOTS of opinions including rainbows, butterflies and flowers, on just how the above cake ought to look.
Fortunately for me, despite her opinions, she's still pretty easy to please.
Hot dogs and macaroni and cheese was on the menu for dinner, at request of the birthday girl. Daddy's request was for leftover tacos. They both got their way.
After our feast,
to which even Tikvah was invited,
we opened presents.
Everyone was into this part, even Joey, who was literally into Xandra's new dress from Grandma DeShon.
Cards,
beautiful necklaces,
and Hungry, Hungry Hippos were all part of the action, too.
I always secretly wanted this game when I was a kid.
Buying it and playing it has been like fulfilling one of my childhood dreams. I'm silly someimes.
This one is silly, too.
But not about blowing out birthday candles. She got all six at once.
Happy Birthday, you big serious, silly, six year old porcupine.
What a beutiful birthday girl and a beautiful cake! You're looking pretty good too, miss Trisha!
