And The Day After That Too

With the Boxcar Children party behind us, we had only to celebrate on the day of Xandra's actual birthday.  We began the day, at her request, with chocolate chip waffles.

Greatly enjoyed by all.

She sported her birthday crown (made by Xandra) much of the day.

At lunch time, we opened presents

from Grandma DeShon,

Ms. Carol (a porcupine that opens up)

and mommy and daddy.

Birthday dinner request was macaroni and cheese and hotdogs.

She sported her new nightgown, new necklace (from Ava!), new umbrella and new purse all throughout the meal,

and much of the next day,

and the next day, and the day after that, too...

The Beeeeaver

An expression that can oft be heard around the Pull resort is, "You need the beeeeaver."  In case your home doesn't have a beeeeeaver, we'll clue you in on what we mean.  When Theia looks like this

She needs this

This is the beeeeaver (alway pronounced with an extended eeeee sound).

This old and trusty beeeeaver has been a part of washing dirt from kids for nearly thrity years.  Joe remembers it from bathtime when he was a child and our children are now experiencing the magic of the beeeeaver, too.

A few days after we got home from vacation, Theia and Xandra were playing.  Theia found the cover to Joe's Kindle, which is made of a soft brown material and has an opening much like an oven mitt or beeeaver.  She put it on her hand and ran after Xandra saying, "You need the beeeaver!"  Just like she'd heard Grandpa Tim do countless times throughout our visit in North Dakota.
