We attempted pictures at home first. After Liyah wiggled out of her cocoon and Theia took off her caterpillar, we gave up a group picture and settled for less than great individual shots.
After our failed photo session, we ventured next door to see the neighbors on either side of us. They showered us with oohs, ahhs, and lots of candy.
Our neighbors refused pictures, but were happy to take a shot of us.
After a quick trip to Kohl's, we were off to a friend's house to trick or treat their neighborhood.
As one might guess, trick or treating (much like everything else) with these three is an adventure. Xandra was quite wide with her butterfly wings. It was difficult for other children to get by her to the candy bowl. The wings also refused to stay on straight, so mommy was constantly readjusting them so Xandra could stand up straight. Theia refused to walk in her costume and was thusly carried on Joe's shoulders the entire evening. Liyah cried for a few minutes and then slept through the festivities in the stroller. Xandra did a good job saying, "Trick or Treat, please," at each house. She added the please to the end all by herself. I told her that she had to be polite at each house and I guess she took me seriously. I think she wanted to make sure she got her candy.
We accompanied friends Jillian, Faith, Ava (three princesses) and Andrew (tiger).
After our trick or treating, we stopped in at Chipotle for free burritos (adults) and quesadillas (kids). The wait was about 30 minutes, but the kids entertained themselves pretty well.
Then it was back to Faith and Jillians to eat dinner with pumpkin pie (adults) and candy (kids) for dessert.
A fun time was had by all. Now, what to do with all of that candy?!
I love your title for this post! :-) I never did get to see a full view of Theia in her costume that night, but you did a super job!
